“Science Reporting in the Age of Fake News”

Science writer and New York Times columnist Carl Zimmer will speak on Oct. 23 at ϲ College.

Science writer Carl Zimmer pens the “Matter” column for The New York Times and is a frequent contributor to contributed to The Atlantic, National Geographic, Time and Scientific American.

He will be speaking on the topic of “Science Reporting in the Age of Fake News” at ϲ College on Tuesday, October 23, at 4:30 p.m. in Hooker Auditorium. The reading is sponsored by the ϲ College Science Center, and will have copies of his books available for purchase.

The author of 13 books about science, Zimmer’s most recent publication, “She Has Her Mother’s Laugh: The Powers, Perversions, and Potential of Heredity,” examines heredity and genetics from Charles Darwin to mail-order DNA testing. He is a three-time winner of the American Association for the Advancement of Science’s Science Journalism Award. He teaches science writing at Yale University.
